To further enhance gender mainstreaming in the barangay level, two monitoring teams from Gender and Development office were dispatched last June 25, Wednesday, until July 2, 2025 to perform the monitoring of Barangay GAD Plan and Budget for the first semester of 2025. Their primary role is to monitor if the GAD Plan and Budget were properly utilized. VAWC offices were also included in the monitoring.
The summary result of the monitoring are as follows:
- Hundred percent (100%) of all the barangays participated in the celebration of National Women’s Month 2025 and utilized the budget that was allocated for that.
- Out of 48 barangays, 70.83% has functional VAWC offices, 27% of which still lacks the basic equipment that the VAWC office should have while 29.17% is undergoing renovation or will transfer to a new office. More than fifty percent has GAD corner.
Overall, most of the barangay have improved their utilization of their GAD Budget and mainstreaming based on the needs of the community. The gaps and findings were duly noted for the next monitoring scheduled on December 2025.
